Somar Eluma: the ideal energy-efficient lighting solution for:

New improved design for 2010!
Not content to sit on the laurels of the achievements of our Eluma lighting products, Somar has now redesigned our market-leading commercial high-bay light to give you even greater savings, more control, more light and a smaller carbon footprint.
One of the key innovations of the original Eluma high-bay light was the highly efficient reflector design, ensuring a minimum of 50% savings over conventional SON and metal halide luminaires. However, further optimisation has led to even better performance in the new Eluma High-Bay Series II: the new light configuration, reflector design and more efficient lamps enables an increase in light output of 4%, despite consuming 9% less power than the old Eluma high-bay light. The extra energy efficiency will allow your company to realise greater cost savings (50-90%), bigger carbon reductions and shorter return on investment periods (12-24 months) than previously possible, enhancing the financial benefits of Eluma.
Intelligent environmental sensing has always been a hallmark of Somar's energy-saving technologies, and the original Eluma sensor was no exception. The new Eluma High-Bay Series II is our first light to feature our newest sensor technology, making existing functionality more flexible and adding a whole host of new capabilities. Sensitivity and illumination periods are fully adjustable, as are minimum-maximum outputs and fade levels/speeds, and the new sensor also introduces bright-out functionality (lamps turn off above a user-defined ambient light level), giving you an unparalleled level of control over your commercial energy efficient lighting solution.
The new sensors are programmed by an intuitive radio frequency controller, making customising your lighting a straightforward task. The sensors have individually addresses and can be programmed with unique settings individually, or can be added to lighting groups and programmed en masse. Different strings of lights can also be programmed to act in unison: for example, a set sequence of Eluma High Bay Series IIs in a warehouse could be programmed to all come on at once when triggered, to reflect a common usage pattern e.g. above set security patrol routes.
The new Eluma High-Bay light has a wider range of working temperatures than the older version, as well as a wider range of working heights: the Eluma High-Bay light is designed to operate between 4-18 metres above floor level. By having a variable lamp position system, the distribution of light from the luminaire can be adjusted depending on your operational needs.
The extra energy savings created by the Eluma High-Bay Series II have been realised without compromising the exceptional light quality the luminaire creates. Our commercial high-bay lights emit a far superior light qualty to conventional fluorescent, metal halide, SON or LED light fittings, with a closer spectral match to natural sunlight. They run at near-ambient temperatures to reduce load on HVAC systems and have a far higher lighting output consistency than metal halide or SON lamps, clearly continuing the operational benefits of the Eluma lighting system.
As well as helping you to realise the environmental benefits of reducing your operation's carbon footprint, Somar has redesigned our high-bay light in order to reduce Eluma's environmental impact as well. Through a modular construction approach we are able to source most of the Eluma High-Bay Series II's components locally and bring construction to the UK, reducing the weight shipped from the Far East by 81%. By enabling our worldwide distributors to manufacture locally as well through technology transfer agreements we have afforded even greater carbon footprint savings internationally, by shipping smaller consignments from Somar out to our distributor network.
