Awards For Somar... The Company
Somar International has been identified as a Company that is both forward thinking and a role model for good practice and consequently has been awarded Beacon Company status. Beacon Companies are individually validated and part of the qualification is that the Company listens, is willing to share ideas and is open to change.
The Queens Award for Enterprise has been bestowed on Somar International because of our International Trade achievements. This is the UK's most prestigious business award which recognises outstanding achievement by UK companies. The awards are presented each year by Her Majesty The Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of the Government, Industry, Commerce and the Trade Unions.
The Sage Daily Telegraph Business Awards recognised Somar as the UK company in this sector showing best growth through use of technology, Somar's Managing Director David Bone also received the Award for Best Business Leader - these Awards recognise good business practices, superior leadership, impressive customer service and innovative use of technology and the web.
Somar International has been recognised for export achievements with a Parcelforce Worldwide Business Award.

Awards For Somar's Technology and Energy Saving Solutions
Energy Saving Solutions featuring Somar Technology are now frequently being recognised by credible trade bodies as the No 1 option around the world.
The Somar Integra energy efficient motor control has been bestowed with the highly prestigious German technology award ROI Innovationpreis in 2004.
In 2007 the UK Warehouse Association identified the Somar Eluma energy efficient lighting technology with the Best Technology/Innovation award.
Somar Integra Motor Control has recently been awarded the widely recognised Energy Star status in the USA.
The Somar Eluma energy-efficient lighting was voted Best Green Innovation In Construction Products as part of the industry standard "Construction News" magazine's inaugural Green Awards in 2007. In his presentation speech, Tim Smit of the Eden Project said "the judges commented on the efficiency and sophistication of their product, and their innovative approach to significantly reducing energy consumption."
Somar Eluma energy saving technology was also recognised in the Czech Republic in 2007 where it received LOG-IN Award for technology and innovation for the logistical/warehousing marketplace.

Stralfors UK
UK-based printing firm Stralfors have won a raft of awards for their commitment to environmental performance after having installed Somar Eluma in 2007. The awards include a gong from the Cornwall Sustainability Awards in 2007; the British Print Industry Federation Excellence Awards for the Environment in 2008; Business Link South West best practice award for resource efficiency; PrintWeek Environmental Company of the Year Award 2009.
