  • Peak demand control: Soft start negates the risk of attracting peak demand penalties when starting large motors.
  • Intelligent operational control: As with all Somar technologies the Integra motor controller is programmed to react intelligently to its surroundings.
  • Motors not required can be switched off: Motors not being used can be automatically switched off - there is no finer way to save energy. Due to the soft-start application even the largest motors can be switched off and re-started within the bounds of the supply limits.
  • Only uses energy required during duty cycle: By assessing the duty cycle of the motor every 100/th second (or 120/th second on 60Hz supply) the microprocessor can instruct semiconductor switching to automatically adjust the voltage required at that point to make the motor function optimally. In short it is like a cruise control for a motor, keeping constant speed but adjusting torque as required to do the job in hand.
